1984
Arcelor Mittal (previously known as ENSIDESA) starts to study the recycling of its BOF sludges.
1986
The company SADIM is established in order to develop the recycling of the waste produced by ArcelorMittal
1989
SADIM applies for a process patent in Spain to study the briquetting of BOF sludges. Construction and start up of briquetting pilot plant in Arcelor Mittal (Spain).
1990
SADIM starts supplying the LD-III steel shop of ArcelorMittal with BOF briquettes as coolant.
1993
Due to the good results obtain in the LD-III steel shop, SADIM starts supplying the LD-G steel shop too.
1995
SADIM builds a 90000 t/year briquetting plant to recycle BOF sludges in Aceralia steel shops.
1996
SADIM brings sludges and dust from other plants in ArcelorMittal, and they start studying the use of this waste as a charge in the foundry.
1997
SADIM starts to do pelletizing tests to recycle all the sludges and dust at the Sinter Plant.
1999
SADIM builds a 120 000 t/year pelletizing plant to recycle different dust and BOF sludges to the Aceralia sinter plant.
2000
SADIM sets up its own R+D department and performs different tests with EAF dusts, Integrated steelworks wastes, etc. At the same time, it studies waste recycling proyects for European iron and steel industry.
2003
SADIM certifies its Quality and Environmental Management System under UNE-EN-ISO 9001:2000 and 14001:1996 standards. This System was audited and certified by Lloyd´s Register Quality Assurance LTD.
2004
SADIM starts to study the separation of a residue composed of coal fines and iron ore fines that arise from raw materials conveying.
2005
SADIM certifies its Environment Management System under UNE-EN-ISO 14001:2004 standard.
SADIM builds a briquetting pilot plant in order to use the residue obtained from conveying raw materials with the aim of using the agglomerates as coolant in the BOF shop.
SADIM builds a Deshydrating Plant in the Foundry in ArcelorMittal in Veriña.
2007
Following the good results in the pilot plant, SADIM builds a briquetting plant to make briquettes (ref. BBS and BFE)
2008
SADIM obtains the Integrated Environmental License Ref. AAI-077/06.
